Brent D Gifford is a disciple of Jesus Christ, a husband, a father, and a leader — in that order. For 39 years he has built a life with his wife Cindy that today includes six children, four grandchildren, and two more arriving in August.
Professionally, he has spent more than three decades inside the credit union industry, leading technology, cybersecurity, and enterprise risk at five institutions that today all rank in the top 100 in the United States. He writes at the intersection of leadership, strategy, and faith — with four published books and additional titles forthcoming. And he gives time to the next generation, mentoring more than thirty rising technology executives on their journey to the C-suite.
Lead with clarity. Live with purpose. Serve with faith.
Brent D Gifford is a disciple of Jesus Christ first — a husband, father, leader, author, and mentor — in that order. Everything else in his life flows from how he has ordered those priorities. He credits the foundation to his parents, who taught him from a young age that he had value, that he was needed in this world, and that he could become anything he was willing to work for.
For 39 years he has built a life with his wife Cindy — a partner whose support, judgment, and strength stand behind nearly every success he has known. Cindy has run her own work alongside the marriage, owning a hair and nail salon, operating daycares, and being the steady center of their family of six children, four grandchildren today, and two more arriving in August. She serves actively in their congregation, primarily mentoring children and youth. He and Cindy live what they believe — they don't keep separate social lives; they serve together in the church, raise their family together, and have spent four decades building something that doesn't fit neatly into halves.
Professionally, he has spent more than three decades inside the financial services industry, leading technology, cybersecurity, and enterprise risk at five U.S. credit unions that today all rank among the top 100 nationwide. He has served as Chief Information Officer three times and as Chief Information Security Officer with award-winning results, often brought in to rebuild failing security programs and restore confidence with regulators, examiners, and boards. His executive education spans the leading institutions of the field — Brigham Young University and George Mason University for his foundational and graduate work, and the CUES CEO Institute path through Harvard Business School, the Wharton School, the Darden School at the University of Virginia, and the Johnson School at Cornell University.
He writes at the intersection of leadership, strategy, and faith. His four published books include The Leadership Launchpad: 10 Principles to Build a Career of Impact, The Strategic Shift: Turning Leadership Experience Into Executive-Level Thinking, and the two-volume Mission and Measure of Jesus Christ series. Additional titles are in production across personal development, AI mastery, IT leadership, and a techno-thriller fiction series. Beyond the writing, he has mentored more than thirty rising technology executives on their path to the C-suite, because the next generation of leaders is built one conversation at a time.
His commitment to service runs through every chapter of his life. He is active in his congregation, serves as a volunteer board member and treasurer of his local water and sewer district, has held seats on multiple technology advisory boards, and gives time directly — at food banks, in homes of neighbors, in moves and building projects, and in homeless kit assembly with his church family. He and Cindy live in the Pacific Northwest.
Lead with clarity. Live with purpose. Serve with faith.
